Travis Baker
VP of Operations
Travis has a truly unique insight into multifamily operations. He has worked in the apartment industry since 2002 with both local and national companies. Travis holds a CPM accreditation with IREM as well as a CAM with the NAA. This extensive apartment management experience shapes his approach to company growth and client satisfaction. When not building rapport with new contacts or leading the Nxt team, Travis spends most of his time with his family. In his downtime, he loves watching movies, playing games and recently took on puzzling.
Bryson Miles
Founding Partner, Business Development
Prior to co-founding Nxt Property Management, Bryson started and operated multiple successful companies before getting into the Real Estate industry. With his business operations, marketing, and analytics experience, he oversees all financial aspects of Nxt’s management portfolio, including monthly financial reviews and annual budgeting for current and future projects. Bryson holds a master’s degree in Real Estate Development from the University of Utah. As an owner of real estate himself, Bryson understands the importance of managing a property from the perspective of an owner, which helps Nxt focus on what is most important for a property’s long-term value. When he isn’t neck deep in financial modeling, Bryson enjoys exploring the outdoors with his wife and two children. As a Utah native, he also enjoys skiing, fly fishing, and big game hunting.
Heidi Llewellyn
Regional Manager
With over 13 years of experience in both self-managed and 3rd party management companies, Heidi brings knowledge in all aspects of transitions, lease-ups, rehabs, and stabilized assets. In addition to her experience she is pursuing her CAM and is a CPM candidate with IREM. She’s driven by a passion for property management, priding herself on leading on-site teams by providing the best support, tools and resources they need to be successful with everyday operations and owner expectations. In her free time, Heidi enjoys camping and outdoor activities with her husband and daughter.
Shae Dearden
Regional Manager
Currently, Shae is working toward a bachelor’s degree in technical sales at Weber State University and has accumulated over 10 years of experience in the multifamily industry. In addition to her experience, she is pursuing her CAM and is a CPM candidate with IREM. Her extensive knowledge and professional background make her such a good fit in her current role as Regional Manager, where she works with colleagues on-site and at corporate. She enjoys meeting challenges head-on, from communicating with residents to impressing owners with her expert problem-solving and management skills. When she’s not rising to the occasion at Nxt, she’s spending valuable time with her family. A Utah native, she cherishes travel and has Normandy, France, on her bucket list.
Jean Smith
Regional Manager
Jean possesses over 30 years of experience in the apartment management industry. She's earned several valuable certifications, including Utah Apartment Association-UPRO Designation and National Apartment Association CAM Designation. Her extensive experience with conventional, REIT’s and HUD communities serves her well in her position as Regional Manager. In addition to her career at Nxt, she also holds prominent leadership roles within distinguished associations. She's currently on the National Apartment Association’s Budget and Finance Committee while also serving as the 2020 Chairman of the Utah Apartment Association. On her days off, Jean enjoys spending treasured time with her husband and their two boys. She loves cooking, and her favorite place to relax is in the backyard where she can watch the sun slowly set over the lake.
Joel Todd
Director of Facilities
In addition to an associate degree in business management from Weber State University, Joel holds several certifications, including Commercial Pesticide Applicator, HVAC/EPA/RMGA and CPO. He’s worked in property management for over 17 years maintaining large sites; and has held a variety of positions that include groundskeeper, maintenance technician and maintenance supervisor. His extensive experience and specialized knowledge have equipped him with the leadership skills and oversight needed in his role as Director of Facilities. In his position, Joel oversees all maintenance and facility operations for Nxt Property Management's portfolio. When he’s off the clock, Joel loves family time with his wife and two boys. He also enjoys hosting backyard barbecues where his smoked brisket and ribs are a stand-out favorite.
Natalie Zimmerman
Systems Administrator
Natalie has an associate degree from Kaplan University and has received certification and training in Yardi, Entrata, and RealPage. Her 25 years in property management provide her with expansive knowledge that she shares with others as part of her Corporate Trainer role. In fact, her accomplishments have garnered her industry recognition, including UAA nominations for Assistant Manager of the Year and Best Renovations. When she’s not helping others develop professional skills, you can find her taking long drives with her favorite music playing. She and her sister also love to plan parties with fun themes based on current events.
Mike Gamble
Operations Manager
Mike is an instrumental force in helping to improve the quality, productivity and efficiency of Nxt corporate operations. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Utah and over 10 years of experience in property management. His professional writing skills help in the creation of specialized forms, contracts and formal communications with owners, while his extensive management experience assists in supervising property transitions. In his current role as Operations Manager, Mike works closely with regional managers and other corporate staff to ensure the highest quality and efficiency at all sites. With many years in financial services he also works closely with our accounting and banking relations teams to keep things running smoothly. On his days off, you’re likely to catch him with friends and family in the great outdoors or volunteering with conservation organizations. He loves to barbeque, smoke fresh game or set off for a long drive down a gravel road.
Kelly Jensen
Quality Assurance Manager
With a bachelor’s degrees in business administration and accounting from the University of Utah, as well as over 10 years of professional experience working the ins and outs of multi-family management, Kelly brings a deep level of experience and understanding to our on-site operations. Her extensive success in lease-up operations, rehab properties and management/ownership transitions allow her to be a foundational support to our on-site teams as the Quality Assurance Manager. Kelly is instrumental in executing our corporate initiatives as well as providing quality support to our teams. On top of being a QA rock star, she’s also a committed wife and mother. When she’s not out auditing expectations and putting in company-wide practices into place, you can find her spending time outdoors with her family or shopping the aisles of Target.
Chris McDonald
Regional Maintenance Supervisor
Chris has worked in property maintenance for the past 15 years- starting in ski resort lodges, then moving to behavioral health hospitals, and now multi-family housing. This wide variety of facility maintenance has allowed Chris to hone his skills and experience a series of different maintenance responsibilities. Chris joined Nxt Property Management in 2018 starting as a maintenance supervisor and later being promoted to a senior maintenance supervisor, and now to a regional maintenance supervisor. He is at his best utilizing his knowledge and resources to help lead his team and become the leading property management company in Utah. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Chris is a graduate from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. In his free time, he enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his wife and daughter. Whether its hiking, rock climbing, skiing, or dirt biking, being outside has always been his happy place.
Cricket Whitlock
District Manager
With 37 years of Property Management experience, Cricket’s career has been diverse by holding leadership positions in the self-managed, 3rd party management, REIT and single-family sectors. Cricket is driven by a passion for property management, priding herself on strong customer service and supporting on-site teams by cultivating a strong environment of learning and using a direct, hands-on teaching approach. Cricket currently resides and manages in Utah, but her experience has spanned over numerous states, including Texas, Washington, California, Oregon, Arizona, and Ohio. She brings knowledge in all aspects of transitions, lease-ups, rehabs, and stabilized assets. In addition to her experience in property management, she is pursuing her CAM certification. In her free time, Cricket enjoys cooking, and owns and operates her own catering and personal chef business.
